How about a hint on what the point of the second video was?

Those of us in the 26.4kbps hinterlands can't view streams.

These "captives" are the so-called peace activists, no?

Has there been a ransom demand yet?

Do they still have control of their faculties...have their heads about them.

IF

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

--Rudyard Kipling

The Brit, and I believe the American, we're calling for troop withdrawal from Iraq, but it didn't appear to be part of the terrorists demands. As far as I can tell the deadline is Thursday for the release of terrorist prisoners.

OK. I admit it. I misunderstood the title. I thought I'd missed a hostage released and I was about to read that a "second" hostage was released too. I'm disappointed.

Somebody tell me again why we don't think these surrender monkey "hostages" and their friends would stage something like this?

Has there been a ransom demand yet?

I believe they want all Iraqi prisoners released. All of them...everywhere.

US has until Dec 8 to meet their demands...or else.

Kember is a 74 year old retired medical physicist from Pinner, north London who was in Iraq as part of a Christian Activist Peacemaker team.

Loney is a 41 year old Canadian community worker from Toronto and was leading the activist group.

Fox is an aid worker and peace activist from northern Virginia.

Harmeet Singh Sooden is a 32 Canadian electrical engineer, though I've read other reports he was from New Zealand.

The Christian Peacemaker Team is a Chicago-based group and has had members in Iraq since 2002. Their goal is to end the occupation, which I presume has changed from preventing the war all together back in 2002. The group has also blamed the US and the UK for the kidnappings because of the military presence in Iraq.

As for the kidnappers they call themselves the Swords of Righteousness Brigade. According to terrorism experts, namely Magnus Ranstorp, say that the insurgents are adopting tactics used during the civil war in Lebanon in the 1980’s, such as claiming names that are often just made up and grabbed out of the air, as was often the case in Beirut. Ranstorp has said that this sort of discourse about spying and acting on behalf of enemy forces is always ominous. It rarely, if ever, ends well.

Names like "Symbionese Liberation Army". But they are really just cheap thugs and criminals who just want to murder someone. Why are these peace activists over there anyway?

What makes me really sad about this is and I feel sorry for these people.

Think about it- they are led by the media and the propaganda of the left. If what they heard was true - they might have a point.

BUT they are sheep for the Democrats and the liberals, and it is sad to think they may die so some Democrats can keep their cushy jobs and go to cool cocktail parties.

Bottom line that is what this treason behavior is all about.

If they meet their demise, that will be too bad. I don't want one soldier to lose his life trying to rescue these traitors.

I'm not the least worried for these people - no doubt their moral superiority and purity of soul will impress their captors and they'll be able to reason their way to freedom with little trouble.....

To get a reality check. I would guess it's working. It is difficult for a sheep to understand a wolf's lack of desire to be a vegetarian.

Not to make light of a unfortunate situation but I garner the terrorists are figuring out that peace activists don't make for good bargaining chips

lol!
