PRE-BUSH reports of Saddam's ties to Al Qaeda

I changed web services since I put this together a while ago. Here's the new link.

Story is....

I was surfin ebay and came across a library that was selling it's 1990-99 copies of TIME, NEWSWEEK, USNEWS, etc. $50. No c'mon...WHO could pass that up?! Well I couldn't. So I got em, and was flippin through and found all these articles claiming Saddam and Al Queda were teaming up. I also have a few books on Iraq and a few on AQ from before 2001, so I piled the mags up, highlighted my pre-bush books, and put together this list. Also included are any reports from the SSIC investigation into 911 that detail intel (now open source) about AQ and/or Iraq. Specific sourcing is available on some of these on this link, but if you want more, you gotta 1) buy one of my books or 2) pm me and I'll happily share the mega excel sheet (you will need to include your email address though).

Hope you enjoy this

Very interesting.

Can you make references where all these lines have come from? It would be helpful to post footnotes or attribute the quotes you have found to a publication, reporter or politician.

From a February 13, 1999 CNN article, Bin Laden reportedly leaves Afghanistan, whereabouts unknown

Saddam Hussein offered asylum

"Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has offered asylum to bin Laden, who openly supports Iraq against the Western powers."

"Despite repeated demands from Washington, the Taliban refused to hand over bin Laden after the August 7 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, demanding proof of his involvement in terrorist activities."

Thanks for all your research. Here is a link that has more information about the incidents in the Philippines that linked the Iraqi government directly to terrorist bombings:

It was Richard Clark who coined the phrase "Boogie to Baghdad" in reference to Osama Bin Laden seeking refuge in Iraq.

That was before he and Sandy Berger were sued by the owner of the Al Shifa medical plant in Sudan that the two of them advocated bombing. After the lawsuit, both became fervent voices in the NO TIES crowd, but until that lawsuit...they were all about claiming Saddam had ties to AQ.

This information, especially evidence that Al Qaeda and Iraq intelligence collaborated to find an atomic bomb, is readily available in Michael Scheuer's Through Our Enemies' Eyes. There were plenty of connections between Al Qaeda and Iraq. They were probably not operational in the sense that they planned terrorist attacks together. The media and Democrats have successfully manufactured the myth that there were NO connections of any kind between the two. That is simply not the case.
