A generation from now, Iraq may be the lead nation of a stable Middle East, just as the victory in Germany ushered in peace following "hundreds of years of dysfunctionality in Europe," an official said.

This would indeed be a great result. A stable, pro-democratic nation in the mideast, not anti-American, not anti-the-West, not fanatical; just a stable and productive democracy. Why wouldn't the dems want to see that, too?

Because the current crop are not really Democrats but something much more sinister.
