I read that thread that day and I knew Buck had hit the nail on the head having learned typing on a typewriter rather than a word processor. Alter has only succeeded in putting himself on my BS list. ( Writing in Newsweek is already 99 % of the way towards getting on that list)

"the public should stop assuming that what they read on the Internet is more accurate than what they read in the mainstream media, because the reverse is usually the case"

BBBBWWWWWAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAA!

Good luck walking past the graveyard with that thinking.

Here is a prime example of why getting your news from FR is better than MSM:

Dimwit chick from msm asks why the Air Marshalls didn't just shoot the nut job in the hand ir shoot to kill. Tune into FR where all the 2A purists hang out and find out the truth. Really, why get mis-informed by somebody with a journalism degree that can't quit writing in the 3rd person when you can get the straight scoop from actual people with actual knowledge of the subject. Further, of course internet junkies are going to know a lot about fonts, good grief.

I think that's accurate. And Howlin kept the thread alive and Buckhead brought his expertise in.

Russert asked him if he meant Gore, and he said no, that he meant Bush, because, whether or not he had won the electoral vote, Gore had clearly won the popular vote, so he should be President.

He really said that? What a moron. Pravda editors had nothing on this puke.

Strange, isn't it, that the Dimocrats have conniptions if you suggest that maybe the state has an interest in preventing mothers/monster from destroying their children--that's a fundamental right of privacy, you know--but if the topic is the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms, well, that's on the table `cause it's been so misinterpreted: we need to limit it that `right' to movie stars' bodyguards and others on short lists.
And if your 1st Amendment `right' to speech on Free Republic (those arrogant bastards, man we hates' `em!) embarasses the wrong people, i.e. Mary Mapes/Dan Rather (sigh, & they were doing such *good work*) well then, we've go to look at some reasonable limitations . . .
"Liberals (Kierkegaard said "People" but he meant liberals) hardly ever make use of the freedom that they do have, like freedom of thought. Instead they demand freedom of speech as compensation."
As long as they agree with the content. So let's not get `carried away' with that Bill of Rights, OK? unless we talkin' penumbras. Man, doncha love them penumbras?

Alter just sees his precious liberal rag (and associated job) in free fall. Bottom line--the pros were so arrogant, sloppy and deceitful in pursuing their full time livelihoods that they got called out by people on their free time (paid to do other things).

For that Mapes, Rather and yes, Alter should really be ashamed.

It was. And that was on the first thread, not the one Buckhead came on.

WE NEED TO SEE THOSE MEMOS AGAIN!

They are not in the style that we used when I came in to the USAF. They looked like the style and format we started using about 12 years ago (1992). Our signature blocks were left justified, now they are rigth of center...like the ones they just showed.

Can we get a copy of those memos?

Hell...speaking of MSM bias... Was is Russert or Matthews who asked "How many electoral votes do WE need to win?" (he then quickly "corrected" himself when he realized what he said)....does anyone know?

"Buckhead"'s posting on the right-wing FreeRepublic website began the blogosphere's speedy evisceration of the forged memos, but Alter has this novel spin: "The blogger's anonymous assertion, within hours of the broadcast, that the proportional spacing and type font of the Killian memos did not exist in those days was only one of many falsehoods spread by political hit men."

Interesting how these lamestream media people accuse their critics of lying by telling lies themselves.(Lying about lying)

The issue of "availability" of proportional fonts was discussed early in the outing of those bogus memos. It was only available in very, very expensive machines, that were impossibly likely to be found at an ANG office. Buckhead never said those fonts did not exist, of course they did, but only on expensive Linotypes and a limited number of high-dollar machines. The liberal rags are using the old magician's trick of misdirection to get away with their sleight of hand ...(look over here! The BLOGS lied!) While telling their own whoppers.
