I agree. Help out the elderly who lost everything by pointing them to the various non profits, help is out there. However, to the able bodied whiners, do like the illegals have done, go in and take advantage of the jobs and do the work yourself.

I think there are some charities that still do good work, like Habitat for Humanity. They have people who are receiving their assistance work for several (hundred, I think) hours on their and other's new and improved housing. They learn useful skills, and develop some deserved self-esteem. They also, by the time they're done, see their house as something they invested in, not as something they were given, and that can be easily replaced. How does that go? "Give them a hand up, not a hand-out!"
