Not nonsense, but it isn't very likely to happen. If Iran gets a nuke and they want to strike the US, they'll hit DC, LA or NYC, not try and conduct an EMP strike. While it's scientifically possible, it hasn't ever been done in actual combat operations (unlike, say, Nagasaki), and the Iranians wouldn't waste their only shot (presumably) testing it out.

Iran would have no shot in hell of hitting any of the above cities here in the States - They wouldn't have enough nukes to "flood the zone" per say -
