Six months after a 15-year-old boy was slain by thugs over a $200 iPod, a second alleged Crip gang member is charged with his murder — as the boy's devoted parents vow to help keep a Brooklyn neighborhood safe from gangs.
"People are afraid, but they're starting to come forward. I'm thankful there's been a break in the case," said father Errol Rose, 53.
On July 2, Christopher Rose was on his way to a Fourth of July pool party in Pennsylvania. He was listening to a friend's iPod while walking two blocks away from his mother's home in East Flatbush when hoodlums demanded the iPod.
During the resulting melee, Christopher, known as "Rosie" or "Jokes" because of his sense of humor, was stabbed twice in the chest and died almost instantly.

Thugs are very bad at math.

I guess they figure a few chilren's books hide their little war against against the black family.
Laugh if you like, but the same thing happened with cell phones in England after a few similarly senseless murders.

---And Tookie killed for a little over $200. These are the most ruthless killers who just seem to get a charge off of killing people. Doesn't seem like money is the prime reason because of the small amounts.
Senseless only to a sane human.

My brother wanted to splurge on some expensive sunglasses. My mom told him not to, mentioning a kid who was ordered by some thug to give him (the thug) his glasses, and then after handing them over was shot dead. Sad how someone is not allowed to enjoy wearing something expensive since it might get them killed.
Naked materialism run amuck.
Great idea but the ACLU would probably say you would be interferring with his 1st amendment rights of free speech or religion by being a member of a gang.
