Look where staying home during last month's election got the die-hard conservatives.

What rot. (R)nold was showing his Liberal stripe long before that doomed "special election" crap. Hell, if anyone's to blame for the outcome of the latest debacle, it's (R)nold for thinking that his celebrity status was some kind of political teflon against the unrelenting (and unanswered) attacks by the unions.

Arnold's been pushing nothing but more borrowing, more gun-control, and bigger government from day one of his administration. Hell, the man didn't even have the stones to back the Parental Notification proposition! And you think conservatives are at fault for his being a Kennedy Liberal? Get a freaking clue.

For many people, I think the moment was when he made a budget deal with the Democrats this summer rather than hold his ground and demand spending cuts. It undercut his argument for change and people perceived he became part of what he was going to change. And it went all downhill from there because people felt, "If our Governor doesn't think its a crisis, why the heck should we?" We had a special election and after it was over we found the state aflush with money. Crisis indeed.

I had doubts about him. To me, his support on the ban on .50 caliber rifles was the litmus test. I knew if he supported the ban he would be like any Democrat and he would be leftist on just about any issue. Gun control is a very good litmus test -- one of the best in seeing where a person really stands. That is why RINOs don't talk much about gun control until they are elected.

Republicans seem to be masters at throwing away opportunities.
