I heard the crowd numbered all of about 100.

I also heard today that the prison where Tookie Jr is incarcerated was in lockdown because of a threat of reprisal from the Crips for killing their leader? I thought that this scum repented? If he did, why didn't he make a final statement asking for forgiveness and requesting that the violence be stopped with his death? Repentence, my foot. Put that in your pipe Mr Mike Farrel and smoke it!!!

Most all prisons routinely go to lock-down before, during and just after an execution, regardless of who is about to be executed.
