Great. Let's use the "patriot" act to fight the drug war like they promised they wouldn't.
Either way, it looks like it's getting renewed. A sad day for the Consitutiotn.

A dem gets it, although he only feels this way because Bush is for the "patriot" act. He would surely be quiet if Bill Clinton had proposed this monstosity. And all of the Republicans in that case would be rising up against the act.

I'm glad it's renewed.
The vast majority of the Patriot Act would remain in force even if the House-Senate agreement to renew the expiring provisions fails. The reauthorization language would extend for four years two of the Patriot Act's most controversial provisions authorizing roving wiretaps and permitting secret warrants for books, records and other items from businesses, hospitals and organizations such as libraries.
