I can imagine those injuries on his face if he were hit while his glasses were on.
Of course, the glasses would have been damaged.
I wonder if he had the presence of mind to take them off before he was "assulted".
Actually if the lighting was straight on as in the picture in post #5, I don't think the bags under his eyes would be particularly noticeable.
The light is from the top right and it really makes the bags stand out.
