While it seems silly, it is part of a deadly serious war on Christianity. That this could happen in the very conservative City of Plano, Texas is shocking.

Did the school really ban red & green, or they simply set the color of the paper plates and utensils to be white only? Uggh... this war has become a silly one, I agree. I don't want to ban your speech or influence what you say here, but from now on, only use the words "I" and "agree". You are still free to use them in any order you want.

The saying may be worn but it is very true.
Yes, it's just as true as "Blacks are lazy," Jews are stingy," "Lawyers are nothing but ambulance-chasers," etc. Comments like these are for the intellectually lazy who need someone to bash.

It may be an urban legend about Plano, but it DID happen in our school district a few years ago. When a small boy used green and red to make a paper chain for their "holiday" decorations, the teacher took it away from him. And that was only one egregious act of anti-Christian behavior.

This is an urban legend from 2 or 3 days ago! Didn't happen! Not exactly ... it's just embellished information. The school DID insist on white napkins as opposed to red and green because they were calling their event a "winter celebration" and the white napkins matched the theme better. This came straight from the horse's (school district) mouth. And there is litigation going on right now from some parents against the school and their stance.

What is the difference? I would have brought red and green and blue. Christmas and Hanukkah colors.

Well the only solution here is to abolish December 25th as a federal holiday. And while we're at it, we might as well do away with Thanksgiving. Christmas should go back to being a purely religious observance. No need for shopping or gifts or tons of decorations. I'm sure the retail market will understand the importance of this change. Oh, and while we're at it, since Saturday is Sabbath to Jews and Sunday to Christians, weekends should be abolished as well. Workers can stagger their days off as permitted by employers. There. That should make everyone happy.

my Jewish cousins always had a menorah and a huge Christmas tree.Yep. I've known plenty of Jewish people who celebrate Christmas as a cultural event, and Hanukkah for the religious aspect.

My, my - a bit sensitive there aren't we. You may embrace racial and religious stereotyping as true - I stick to the ones verified by repeated, public experience.

And that was only one egregious act of anti-Christian behavior.Worship of the colors red and green has no scriptural basis in the Bible. So how can the situation above be construed as "anti-Christian"?
Those of you desperately concerned with Christmas trees and colored cupcakes really need to read what the scripture has to say about idol and false gods...

The saying may be worn but it is very true.
Everyone knows it, except those in the "teaching community".
Which, in a way, helps prove the axiom.

Christmas may ultimately be replaced with MLK day.
