One of the more egregious anti-Christmas examples in the war on Christmas is the school district in Plano, Texas, which banned the colors red and green last year.
I say this all the time in promoting my book, "The War on Christmas." I did a chapter on the Plano situation in the book and looked into this incident in some detail.
The ban on red and green had to do with the paper plates, napkins and cups which parents bring to the holiday party at the winter break, which used to be the kids' Christmas party at Christmas break, but, well, as often happens in this war, the names got changed.
The district sent a note home with the students to the parents. I have that note. It says white only for the plates and napkins and stuff because this is a holiday party. They were making it clear it was not a Christmas party. The ban on red and green extended to the icing on the cupcakes.

Fo generations if not at least a century Dec 25th was a holiday celebrated by everyone with the exception of the Jewish community in this country.
Most of the merchants whether Jewish or not would look forward to the money they would get from the buying of Christmas gifts. That's right I said CHRISTMAS gifts. There were Christmas Carols sung, Christmas trees bought and decorated with Christmas ornaments, Christmas plays in schools, Christmas office parties, Christmas displays everywhere, Christmas day meant stores were closed in observance of the holiday,there were Christmas TV shows, Christmas was celebrated by all, suddenly some group came along and decided that Christmas never existed??
Well than and a very Merry CHRISTMAS to you, get over it Christmas is here to stay!

When a public school decides to regulate how parents are to decorate cupcakes and the like for parties, then it is way over the line. Plano can say anything they want in defending this silly rule, but anyone can see through it for what it is. PC and Christmas do not mix very well.
This is horribly amateurish reporting on Gibson's part. It's an old story and he still can't get his facts straight.
"Those that can do, Those that can't teach",, is no less true today than when it was coined.
All this PC crap will stop when they start firing the loons in the school administrations who are causing the problem.

LOL, my Jewish cousins always had a menorah and a huge Christmas tree.
The school district is making a lot of noise that they didn't ban red and green clothing on the kids or the teachers. But I think banning red and green cupcakes is worse in its own way.
Now the school district is taking advantage of the fact someone said red and green clothing was banned to claim this whole story is bogus. It is not. Once again, I possess the document from the district to parents. The silliness and pettiness of Plano's anti-Christmas campaign cannot be covered up.
The saying may be worn but it is very true.

I think you two missed the point. O'Reilly, as often is the case, got the story wrong, and Plano jumped on that to deny they had ever done anything wrong.
Gibson is pointing out that in fact they DID ban green/red icing on cupcakes, and napkins and plates. He has the letter sent to the parents from the school which tells them what colors they can and can't use, and WHY. The letter apparently says it is because it is a "holiday" party, and that green and red are christmas colors.
Gibson is trying to point out that he covered this in his BOOK, which was published already, and that Plano is wrong to deny that they banned colors simply because they didn't ban colors on CLOTHING.
Gibson never said they banned clothing colors, that was an O'Reillyism.
I think when a school takes a stand on these things, like the changing Silent Night, no mention of Christ, etc.. parents should not have them go to school the day of the party.
Maybe have a Christmas party at home with school friends and see how fast they change their minds. When they start losing state aid because so many children are absent, they will change their minds.
Mexico and Italy's National Colors are Red, Green and White.......I think...........too Christmasy..........
