Did the school really ban red & green, or they simply set the color of the paper plates and utensils to be white only? Uggh... this war has become a silly one, I agree.

This sounds like a story from The Onion.

Little by little they chip away to the point that December 25 will no longer be a solemn national holiday??
Fo generations if not at least a century Dec 25th was a holiday celebrated by everyone with the exception of the Jewish community in this country.
Most of the merchants whether Jewish or not would look forward to the money they would get from the buying of Christmas gifts. That's right I said CHRISTMAS gifts. There were Christmas Carols sung, Christmas trees bought and decorated with Christmas ornaments, Christmas plays in schools, Christmas office parties, Christmas displays everywhere, Christmas day meant stores were closed in observance of the holiday, there were Christmas TV shows, Christmas was celebrated by all, suddenly some group came along and decided that Christmas never existed??
Well than and a very Merry CHRISTMAS to you, get over it Christmas is here to stay!

This is an urban legend from 2 or 3 days ago! Didn't happen!

When a public school decides to regulate how parents are to decorate cupcakes and the like for parties, then it is way over the line. Plano can say anything they want in defending this silly rule, but anyone can see through it for what it is. PC and Christmas do not mix very well.

Wonder if Plano would have a problem with plates in Mexico's or Italy's national colors?
Our public school's band concert, titled appropriately "The Christmas Concert", the other night included decorations on the stage of wreaths and a large Christmas tree and musical selections of Christian hymns and traditional Christmas carols. The reception was also decorated with red and green cookies on Christmas plates. On the whole, the audience was decked out with their Christmas attire. Not surprising in this neck of the woods, there wasn't one word of protest.
On all campuses (K-12) there are Christmas trees and Christmas decorations in the offices and classrooms. Next week, students will be having scheduled and impromptu Christmas parties and present exchanges.

"Those that can do, Those that can't teach",, is no less true today than when it was coined.
All this PC crap will stop when they start firing the loons in the school administrations who are causing the problem.

Just think of the fireworks if one of the black children had brought this flag to school...
Here is a link to this Marcus Garvey flag and some other ones - all incorporating red and green.

So, it's a holiday party, but the holiday is DEFINTITELY NOT CHRISTMAS! (Spirit of inclusion, you know.)

I think when a school takes a stand on these things, like the changing Silent Night, no mention of Christ, etc.. parents should not have them go to school the day of the party.
Maybe have a Christmas party at home with school friends and see how fast they change their minds. When they start losing state aid because so many children are absent, they will change their minds.

While it seems silly, it is part of a deadly serious war on Christianity. That this could happen in the very conservative City of Plano, Texas is shocking.

I don't want to ban your speech or influence what you say here, but from now on, only use the words "I" and "agree". You are still free to use them in any order you want.

Well the only solution here is to abolish December 25th as a federal holiday. And while we're at it, we might as well do away with Thanksgiving. Christmas should go back to being a purely religious observance. No need for shopping or gifts or tons of decorations. I'm sure the retail market will understand the importance of this change. Oh, and while we're at it, since Saturday is Sabbath to Jews and Sunday to Christians, weekends should be abolished as well. Workers can stagger their days off as permitted by employers. There. That should make everyone happy.

So, it was to be a "Holi-day" party only?
Which Holy Day is that, do you suppose?
