People used to think it was kind of cool, and part of NO's unique charm to be able to look up and see the barges and ships going past over your head.

Not anymore.

NOLA did have some charm to it, once you forgot about the high incidence of crime, even in the quarter. In the past couple of years pre-Katrina, NOLA was really dangerous. They had many more crimes including the violent ones. They kept the murders and assaults covered up, though...and now we know what a cesspool it's always been.

It's really a shame on so many levels.

If the people of New Orleans and Louisiana don't get rid of these two then they have no one else to blame but themselves.

Unfortunately, the rest of the country will simply have to pay for all this stupidity.
