WASHINGTON - Due to last-minute changes in the U.S. Senate schedule, New Jersey Gov.-elect Jon Corzine will give his farewell speech on the Senate floor Friday, instead of Thursday, his office said.
Corzine will also receive tributes from his colleagues on Friday.
Corzine returned to Washington Wednesday, most likely his last time here as a sitting U.S. senator, his office said. The Senate is preparing to end its session before the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays.
Corzine will be sworn in as New Jersey's governor Jan. 17. Last week, he named Rep. Robert Menendez to serve out the remaining year of his term.
Besides voting on various measures, Corzine was ferrying Menendez around the Senate. Corzine, Menendez and Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., are slated to attend the Democratic Caucus lunch Thur
Barf alert warning for the Senate tomorrow
I'm giving my cat a shampoo, can't make it.
*L* .. that reminds me ... I have a litter box that needs cleaning
Well it most certainly will need cleaning if it gets anywhere near Corzine's farewell speech :)
This speech should be rescheduled to Sunday.
LOL!
Corzine is bearing down hard to grow some taxes in New Jersey though. He thinks rich folks like him should be taxed into oblivion... snicker. Bite down hard suckers. The roads will soon be paved with teachers pensions.
