Palestinian militant group Hamas has won a sweeping victory in municipal elections in the West Bank. The Palestinian electoral commission said that in the biggest city, Nablus, Hamas took 73% of the vote, while the mainstream Fatah organisation took 13%.

Certainly it wasn't a democratic election in the Western sense of the word. Hamas is armed terrorist group with lots of money and they--not Abbas with his butaforic "Palestinian Authority"--are the real power in W. Bank and Gaza. However, it maybe better to deal with an open enemy than with Abbas who pretends to be a committed to "peace process". I think that Israel will need to return to the entire W. Bank and Gaza and take a complete military and political control of these hell holes, so they wouldn't become a mortal threat to Israel security and yet another breeding ground for the World Jihad.
Definitely an article for Israel/Middle East Ping.
Hamas wins in West Bank elections,
---
Kind of like the Grim Reaper beating out Hitler and Stalin in a popularity contest.
Get all the leadership of Hamas in one building and then blow up the buildin.
Isn't bringing democracy to the Middle East wonderful?
Let's see. A party that achieves only 13% of the vote is "mainstream", according to the BBC. No wonder they think the American political system has been hijacked by people outside of the mainstream.
Very GOOD NEWS!!! This means that the Israeli/palestSCUMian conflict comes to an end finally, shortly.
"Isn't bringing democracy to the Middle East wonderful?"
This is a whole topic for lengthy discussion. Briefly speaking, democracy or republican form of government at its best is much much more than elections. Stalin USSR had also elections with Communist party always winning more than 90% of the votes. Repeating the Churchill phrase, Democracy is the worse form of government excluding all others.
However, I hardly can imagine that armed terrorist group that is in control of W. Bank and Gaza could not win elections. Anyone who opposes them could end up in morgue very short. I wouldn't deny that Hamas is supported by lot's of "Palestinians". But we can't really say that the elections were really democratic.
Israel/Middle East News Ping.
This should at least be interesting to watch...not that I'm the least bit optimistic.
This should make targeting easier.
I would have preferred to see these Koranimals fight it out.
Does this mean that Israel can stop messing around and finally declare war on "Palestine"? The government, after all, has a defacto war with Israel ongoing.
Formal establishment of a terrorist state.
Hey let's make Israel give them some more land!
"it maybe better to deal with an open enemy than with Abbas who pretends to be a committed to "peace process"."
I agree. Israel can now consider the next mortar round crossing the border to be an act of war, and do whatever it takes to remove the threat.
The question is only who will end it. If Israel doesn't end it soon enough, Hamas will.

Why dont they take the head off of every Hamas spokesman who surfaces?
