"Often maybe Mr Rumsfeld and Vice-President Cheney would take decisions into the president that the rest of us weren't aware of. That did happen, on a number of occasions."

That's coming close to whining.

"Mr Rumsfeld and I had some serious discussions, of a not pleasant kind, about the use of individuals who could bring expertise to the issue."

I only have one question; Where would we find these experts, certainly not the state department. Mr. Powell you had the assignment by virtue of your appointment to clean that department up and bring it in to line with the goals of the administration you served. Mr. Powell you failed, therefore you are not credible and your continued diatribe against this administration is ample proof for all the world to see of just what kind of a person you are; an opportunist and a political hack.
