Ontario has to decide if it can overcome its distaste for Western Canada. After all its benefited from suckling on the Liberal teats and human nature being what it is, few people want to bite the hand that feeds them.

A lot of Canadian Lefties supported the Liberals because they were the only show in town. After 12 years in power, Martin looks drawn and tired and the Liberals look like they want to be put out to pasture.

Unfortunately, Southern Interior contains many nests of unreconstructed marxists, tree-huggers, Doukhobors, pot-farmers, and retired civil servants.

Hardly any voters in those groups will vote Conservative.

The Commie N-dipper Atamanenko will undoubtedly be elected, probably by more than a 1,000 vote margin.

Seriously.

I read this from Western Standard as well. Here's hoping.

I wonder if anyone has a take on the BC polls? I really can't believe that the Liberals lead the CPC in this province. Even in Liberal center Victoria, about half the people I know will vote CPC.

Take it from a BC resident, I don't understand BC either. Even after 8 tragic years of provincial NDP mismanagement and corruption, 60% of Vancouver Island voted for them in the last election.

Martin is far more concerned about getting good caviar than whether or not Quebec leaves. His patriotism is a sham. Beer selling patriotism.

UGH!!! Stockwell Day is my rep and he will sweep the area as usual. Kelowna proper has a new representative this year to replace Werner Schmidt who would have had the seat as long as he wanted. I'm sure that if he's Werner backed, he'll win. This just isn't a Liberal area ...yet!!

I'm in the Okanagan/Coquihalla area but work in Kelowna. Actually Ron Canaan is a GREAT guy. Well known, good Conservative. He'll take the seat I'm sure. I know that Kelowna has tried to run high profile Liberals before and they have always gone down to defeat. Unfortunately, we have had a lot of retirees come here so we'll see what happens. Werner Schmidt always won by a HUGE margin.

B.C. has very volatile politics Sam and the reason I believe it does is because it is constantly changing with the HUGE influx of people. The coast has more Asians than whites. The Fraser Valley although they have a huge Mennonite community have a lot of East Indians who ALL vote NDP. Our area keeps filling up with retirees from the East but we have managed to stay Conservative so far. Oh how I miss the stable Social Credit years. Best years of our lives.

Despite Canadians receiving travel warnings about dangerous conditions in Sydney, apparently Canadians are coming downunder in droves.

I know 3 or 4 people I went to high school with who moved to Australia and loved it so much they immigrated there. I guess trading in 8 months of frost and snow for venomous household spiders is the way to go for many people.

I don't get the "Hidden Agenda" thingee, let alone the reversal....Thanks..

The hidden agenda is that Harper will turn Canada "more American." You know, provate health care, more guns, banning abortion, killing gay people, etc.

Constable B.F. Harvey, was in the first contingent of Mounties to serve in Newfoundland when it joined the Dominion in the late 40s.

Many Newfoundlanders regret ever joining Canada. They were basically bribed to join Canada by Joey Smallwood.

Eastern Canada has a long tradition of porkbarrel politics. Think North Dakota or West Virginia.

I trust they don't miss some of Canada's clubs for swingers that made today's news. The brown snakes are what you have to watch out for, especially in the summer.
