Cox has NEVER run for or been elected to any public office. He has already shown that he has no backbone when Pataki chased him out of the race.
John Spencer turned Yonkers around and won 65% of the vote in a heavily Democrat city.
Yes, Cox has never run for public office. But that doesn't mean he will be a formidable candidate in the Republican primary. I suspect he will get a lot of support from the RINO establishment. I wouldn't write him off just yet.
Yonkers isn't really that heavily a Democrat city. Most of its local officials currently are and recently have been Republicans. A lot of the residents are Reagan Democrats.
