The more money Unions have to pay in fines, the less they have to give the Democrats for the '06 and '08 elections.

They are costing the city government $100 million a day, and overall economic activity more like $250 million a day. The fines are chicken feed. You could confiscate everything every worker owns, all the assets of the union, and not pay half the real economic cost of a month long strike. Fine sure, but the real solution is replacement workers.

Their wages are insupportable, let alone the pension stuff. All these prancing self important gangsters should be fired yesterday. You could fill every job in a week at the salaries they offer. You could fill every job in a month at 3/4 what they are paying now.

I heard that there are many applicants everytime a position opens for bus driver, etc.
High (excessive) pay for low skills. So it must be very easy to find replacements.

I bet the neither the unions nor the members will pay any fines. And they know this going into it.
