After failing to block a Democrat filibuster of a Senate defense bill which carried a provision to allow oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said he would employ a rare parliamentary maneuver to finally achieve passage for the ANWR measure.
Today, well introduce a bill to grant pre-emptive immunity from prosecution for treason to The New York Times and any government official who leaked classified information to the Times about the NSA anti-terrorist eavesdropping program, said Sen. Frist. The immunity bill will carry the ANWR drilling measure as an amendment. With support from the full Democrat caucus and our progressive Republican friends, its a slam dunk.
Dr. Frist said Democrats will be so eager to approve the measure, they wont even read the amendments.
If this doesnt work, he added, Ill put the ANWR rider on our motion to adjourn for the year. Either of those options will be more effective than attaching it to a defense spending bill. What was I thinking?
Sound like a nickname for one of Saddam's henchmen!
That was quick.
Sorry, I meant ANWR OYE
How do I get my title fixed?
AAAaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....that's better!
Sounds too realistic to be sarcasm.
I asked the same question of my lawyer during negotiations on my house................................
I love apartment living!
Way to go, Frist !
Beat those bastards !
Olive's sister?
Don't use a carrot to get the donkeys to move. Use a stick. Threaten to increase taxes and help the enviroment with support of most of GOP and Bush. How can they argue about that, W breaking daddy's vow? Place the tax on newsprint and rig it with a small player exemption so only the big paper guzzlers get hit. Save the trees! Sure it will hit the WSJ and WashTimes, but our side's readers have brains and can switch to web based versions.
Frist is a gutless wonder. How many people even know who this knucklehead is.
We want to know who leaked the NSA program to the NY Times and then prosecute them for treason.
Its almost like he wants to sweep the NSA-NYTimes under the carpet for some mysterious reason... hmmm.....
This is SATIRE.
