President and Mrs. Bush visited wounded military personnel recovering in the National Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, also thanking caregivers there.

He signed the "GO Zone" Gulf Opportunity Zone Act, providing nearly $8 billion in tax breaks for Gulf Coast businesses, as part of the government's plan to help the region rebuild from destructive hurricanes.

The Vice President cast a tie-breaking vote as president of the US Senate, enabling passage of a $39.7 billion deficit-reduction bill, the first of its kind in more than ten years.

Defense Secretary Rumsfeld is in Pakistan.

Saddam Hussein Trial Discussed: Christopher Reid, Regime Crimes Liaison, hosted Wednesday's "Ask the White House" from the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. He discussed Saddam Hussein's trial for crimes against humanity. Read the transcript here.

Rumsfeld, who flew to Afghanistan from Pakistan, told reporters the United States is not going to abandon Afghanistan. Rumsfeld said that commitment includes helping run down the remaining Taliban and al-Qaida fighters that are still 'causing difficulties' for Afghanistan.

All clear.

Hello Miss ilovew. Thanks for asking! I'm doing pretty well, I have all my shopping done, am waiting for some gifts to arrive but printed up some placards showing the recipients what they will get if the items don't arrive in time, and am hoping I am able to see my son on Christmas Day. He called today and is fighting a bug.

How are you?

I just caught your post about your diagnosis. What happens in the long run -- is there something the doctors can do long term to relieve the pain?

Hi CRG. How are things your way? Are you having warm weather?

Our freezing rain has calmed down to a regular, old, 50 degree rain now.

Yes, very intent. As one who doesn't want to miss a crumb of the cake. And Laura's face is very telling.

As this Navy Chaplain is appealing his case directly to the president, I decided to post this on the dose.

Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt has served in the Armed Forces for 14 years, the last three as a Chaplain. Now he may be stripped of his status, losing his career, retirement and home for praying in Jesus' name even though Title 10 of the U.S. Code says that it is legal for a Chaplain to pray publicly according to his faith. Chaplain Klingenschmitt has taken his battle directly to the Whitehouse and awaits an answer from President Bush. To hear an interview with Chaplain Klingenschmitt click on the link below.

Eh...I'm okay. I've got a cough and a bad headache but at least I'm not as sick as my brother. And I've got my laptop to keep me busy and amused :)

I am just so glad members of the Bush Administration have taken the time to visit our troops in Afghan.and Iraq. President Bush visits to the Hospitals are heartwarming. ( I don't recall Clinton ever visiting the veterans hospitals.

I just don't know how he manages the number of people, media trying to destroy him. They just keep piling up. I am disappointed that our party does not rally behind him, just glad that he is finally speaking out. needs to do it on a weekly basis.

Thank you very much for the Dose and the wonderful photos of the greatest man I have ever "known" with the most magnificent military on the face of the planet.

So many comments...so little time. I love the look on the Marines face as he looks at his Commander-in-Chief.

Thank you, Gretchen. See our first lady getting off the helicopter in #17. Doesn't she look great! So nice and slender and smartly dressed. A wonderful role model for the women of our country.

Sent you a freepmail. I may have to have another surgery on that side. So, I really hope it gets well on its own. Although I never had any real pain after my rotator cuff surgery until this started. He also told me to use heat on it.
