Is there any chance we can get rid of some RINOs within 6 months?
To: tsmith130
I can see this as potentially beneficial. Six months puts us pretty close to the mid-terms, and if the liberals still object to its renewal then, it'd be a much more effective time to bang them over the head with the issue.

So, the Democrats -- who hate the Patriot Act because it is a vicious assault on our civil liberties -- have now voted in favor of it.
For the second time.
And in six months ... they will try (again) to kill it.
And campaign in the fall as protectors of our civil liberties, based on their opposition to the Patriot Act.
Hopefully " six months " will evolve into an indefinite, "no sunset clause" timeframe.
Right on, GWB. Make it indefinite on Executive orders next time. Fine with me.

Makes it a major election issue and will give the Democrats a desire to massively sabotage the war for the next six months to again try and screw the public and troops to gain some power back.
Look for 6 months of well planned and financed efforts against the President's popularity.
The President this time should never again wait and he should respond early and often so America learns what traitors the Democrats are.

It was approved as good law for 4 years.
It is being extended as good law for 6 more months.
If it has been good for 4 years and needed and extended for 6 more months, then why wouldn't it be good law until the war on terror is over?
