They are idiots. Kids will find ways to play Army. My in-laws kept toys at their house for our boys to play when we visited. They didn't have any toy guns but they did have Lincoln logs. What did they kids do? They used duct tape and made guns with Lincoln logs.

I babysat for a few young boys whose parents had banned "violent" toys like toy guns, even squirt guns. Some of my friends had younger brothers subjected to the same thing. It didn't stop the boys though. At lunch they would pick up their carrot sticks and use them as pistols to "shoot" their little brothers. Blocks, dolls, even fingers were all used to this effect. Parents who think that getting rid of toys will stop certain impulses in their young sons are seriously mistaken.

Frankly I'm less concerned about the future violent behavior of the little boys who chase each other around outside for hours with toy guns screaming "bang! bang!" than I am about the boys who sit in the house by themselves watching heaven knows what on TV all day long.

A cardboard tube makes a great bazooka. Heck, when I was little we even turned dirt into weapons. Dirtbomb!

YW. I've known a lot of people who tried the peace toy route years ago and gave up. Youngster play fight naturally and people aren't helping them with social skills trying to change what they do naturally. Little ones always think of ways to get around PC induced ideas.

Singing "Paint You Wagon" doesn't make it okay just because Clint Eastwood did it.

My husband and his brother liked dolls when they were kids. They found that a doll made an excellent flail :-)

Do these pinheads like or admire anything or anyone?

Fidel Castro. They're seriously hot for Castro.

As I recall, he"s the guy who led that peaceful and weaponless takeover of Cuba, way back when.

When I was a kid, around 1950, every boy in the neighborhood had a .22 rifle, usually a single shot. These kids were 10 to 13 years of age.

Nobody ever shot up a school. Nobody ever went on a rampage. Nobody got shot. We all treated firearms with the cautions and respect required. We could buy our .22 shorts and longs at the hardware store down the street. And Mr Bent, the owner, knew us all by name. Everyone of those boys grew to be highly productive members of society.

Oh, and by the way, this neighborhood was within the city limits of Boston, although this was before the postwar housing boom and there was still a lot of farms, woods and country clubs that gave us access to about 800 unpopulated acres.

Now gun ownership is effectively illegal in Boston except for the wealthy and connected (that's probably redundant) but there are significantly more weapon related problems.

I wonder what happened?

What's the source of that report?

Their website. They were very proud of donating $650,000 in "humanitarian aid" to the innocent victims of U.S. aggression in Fallujah.

Good Lord. What group of crazy people.

Don't they realize what they're doing? My God, this is akin to giving money to the SS.

Nuts. Just nuts.
