We would have to live with consequences, which would be devastating. America would be alone in the world, no one would do business with us. So, our response to anyone nuclear attack must be limited to the offender. In the end we need to be in this world, and besides Iran would never use any potential nuclear weapon against us because the response would be sure and swift. Kill an infantile and wipe off the map your whole culture for all time, even those fanatics can do the math. We still don't have significant proof of an Iranian bomb. I mean no significant proof has been made public by either the Israelis or the US. This isn't to say it doesn't exist.

I am certain they have their own versions of Barbara Lee and Maxine Waters.
The US does not have the world exclusive on big-mouth moonbats.
If push came to shove on actual war with Syria the Russians would see their own muslim problem as a compelling reason to support the US or at worst, stay neutral.
Although, in all honesty, when I look back on the US support for Afghan rebels during the cold war, I wonder what would have happened if we had understood the islamic menace at that time. In many ways, the Russians have some cause to say "I told you so."
