The showerhead I have has the same "feature", though actually I haven't seen fit to take advantage of it.

I installed a WaterPik sunflower-type showerhead last week and the instructions shows you how to pull out the restrictor but couches it with some vague legal CYA mumbo-jumbo. I think I'll go upstairs now and remove the restrictor.

I need power.

My showerhead flow was much improved by a quick procedure with a drill.
