Fake but accurate. Again
By Thomas Lifson

Senator Ted Kennedy looks ridiculous today, in the wake of his foolish reliance on a bogus story of "repression" under the Bush administration's anti-terror efforts. As we noted last Thursday, the Senator took to the pages of the Boston Globe and wrote this whopper:
"Just this past week there were public reports that a college student in Massachusetts had two government agents show up at his house because he had gone to the library and asked for the official Chinese version of Mao Tse-tung's Communist Manifesto."
Leave aside for the moment that Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto (Kennedy is so careless with details that he went to print with this howler; the student actually alleged it was the Thoughts of Chairman Mao that got him into alleged trouble), the story of the government agents showing up has been found to be an utter hoax, credulously accepted and amplified by Kednnedy.
But Kennedy isn't apologizing. Far from it, his spokesman is adopted a variant of the Dan Rather fake-but-accurate line:
Laura Capps, a Kennedy spokeswoman, said last night that the senator cited ''public reports" in his opinion piece. Even if the assertion was a hoax, she said, it did not detract from Kennedy's broader point that the Bush administration has gone too far in engaging in surveillance.
So the Senator's negative opinion, based on fiction, somehow is still real. Because feelings matter more than facts, I suppose.
If Kennedy were a man, he would publicly apologize to President Bush for repeating a vicious lie about him and giving it credence. But of course, if Kennedy were a man, Mary Joe Kopechne would be alive.
"...just happened to tune into a cell phone conversation ..."
I recall the incident but not the details...I suspect that was a targeted intecept. I do not believe NSA has the personnel/capability to *listen* to every phone call made in a given day.
Are we sure old Joe didn't have the proceedure done on Ted as well?
The Swimmer never wrote anything original in his life, including his college papers. His daddy paid someone to write Teddy's stuff in college, and Ted has paid his minions to write stuff for him throughout his political career.
The MSM serves both as the propaganda wing and the news censorship division of the Democrat Party.
Today? Just another day in Teddy's wacky world.
I believe so. Natlamp also had an ad showing John Denver getting his eye clawed out by an eagle, and Jerry Lewis in a wheelchair.
Papa Joe had to buy a Library to get Teddy back into Harvard after he was kicked out.
Merry Lord's Birthday
Merry Christmas right back atcha.
Ted's was (and continues to be) done chemically.
C2H5OH is Ted's lobotimizer of choice.
</liberal logic>
No matter who he is, we should not question him on past sins. It is not the Christian thing to do, for all we know he has gone to penance.
Wonder if Teddy even slams his own B-12 injections?
Not likely. He doesn't have enough courage even for that.
- Ted's eldest brother died honorably defending this country in WWII.
- JFK was murdered by a communist proto-hippie because, for all his (many) failings, he was still determined to stand up (sort of) to the left's beloved USSR.
- RFK was murdered by a Palestinian with ties to Arafat's Fatah movement angered because he was willing to sell F-4 Phantoms to Israel.
Ted has spent a life time suborning his own country and alighning himself with the hers and allies of his brother's murders. A man willing to step over the bodies of his own siblings is the scum of the earth. The hilarious thing is that this sodden old mess apparently harbors presidential ambitions in '08.
Ther seems to be a spelling error in the spokeswoman name. there should be an R in there.
It's amazing the longevity of the Kennedy myth. A lie perpetuated by the bootlegging days of Joe Sr., a Nazi sympathizer.
"The hilarious thing is that this sodden old mess apparently harbors presidential ambitions in '08."
Are you kidding me? Where did you hear that rumor?
True AND accurate.
