Sezer (Turkey): We Share The Excitement And Happiness Of Our Christian Citizens for Christmas

NKARA - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer has issued a Christmas message to Christians in Turkey today.

Sezer said that he joins in the celebration of Christians over Christmas. ''We share the excitement and happiness of our Christian citizens for Christmas. Christmas reminds our multi-religious society about the historical ties that exist between all of us with warm feelings. Christmas carries new hopes of love, peace and brotherhood,'' stated President Sezer. (full article)

It is a great message. However, I won't ever forget Turkey's behavior in the run-up to the war in Iraq. Deliberately putting our troops at even greater risk of their lives while they are defending us is not the action of a trustworthy or wise government or people.
