In the light of NJ ditching all the joke slogans, I suppose the slogan should be:
New Jersey: "Do we amuse you? Do you think we're here for your F'n amusement?"

If those are the five finalists, they should have stuck with the one they had.

Why do they call New Jersey the Garden State?Because of the parkway.

Why do they call New Jersey the Garden State
Probably the same reason they call Greenland Greenland.

I grew up in NJ/NY metro area. There's a lot of funny stuff on this thread, and a lot of true. They will pull you over on the Turnpike, and Exit 13 is very stinky. But Jersey is the best of city and country living, a state where you can be, at once, half an hour from the greatest city on earth, and half an hour from horse country, and half an hour from the beach. It has four beautiful seasons, and a great historic heritage, and friendlier people than I've yet found on the other side of the Delaware. Some of it, most of it, is just beautiful. If not for the killer taxes I'd still be there. I had heaps of money living there but the govt kept taking it away. :(

NJ is in the USA's top 5 in: blueberry, cranberry and eggplant production and I'm sure there is more to the list. The NJ Tomato is, by far, the best in the nation. Not bad for the 3rd smallest state and the only urban state in the USA. 40% of the Garden State is forest and farmland.
