"The New York Times was, long ago, exposed as nothing more than a hack political arm of the DNC. "
Actually they were exposed as nothing more than a hack reporting arm of the politburo. When the wall came down they picked up the mantra of the left wing of the Democrat party.
A'hem, the author more likely meant that "If they go dark, potential LEADS to threats to the United States just disappear."
Which, you will recall, was kept secret for several days.
Kept secret, that is, until a newspaper broke security to report his capture!
That newspaper was -- you guessed it -- the New York Effing Times!
What is the term for stocks that liberals buy--socially conscious stocks or something like that? They don't make a lot of money, but they make you feel like you've made a difference---if you have tubes up your nose.
I am concerned about this type of authority, in general terms. For sure, if the Klintoons were ever to wrest control of the WH again, there is no doubt that they would use (or, abuse, is the better term) these powers for their own political hackery. And, being one of the people who know, for fact, that the Klintoons would do this, I am a little leery of this political power being invested solely with the President.
We also benefit from a President that, despite weaknesses in other areas, has been a leader in defending this country.
But, even with some of those legitimate concerns, the ability to quickly react to and track down these scumbags is an obvious necessity. In fact, if Klintoon would have been actually doing his job (i.e., defending the country) instead of diddling interns, he may have seen that this was how we should have been handling the security of this country prior to 9/11.
Course, once again, the media wing of the DNC (the NYTimesWashPostNBCCBSABCCNN&SADLYFOXNEWS) jumps over itself, the obvious facts, and the practical conclusions of the story...just so they can bash a political foe (i.e., the President).
So, so much for facts, so much for reasonable reporting. It's just bash, bash, bash, bash. It's sad that an American institution (which the NY Times is; right, wrong, or how we feel about it) has come so low. In many ways, it is really indicative of the general decay that our society has gone through since FDR made so many of our countrymen cradle-to-grave socialist mental cases.
But, as long as American Idol continues to be on air, I'm sure that most won't care. Sad.

Ah yes, but you see, the democrats really don't want those dots connected. It's not in their interest to have us win the War on Terror. They would rather see New York City, or Los Angles, wiped out so they can say "see, Bush didn't connect the dots"
That image should be sent to every stockholder of the NYT.
The stock price is going even lower.
Using fake "paid" circulation numbers to try to justify excessively high ad rates is not working.
Getting us to pay to view their DUmmies is not working, either.
More layoffs soon ?

....well, if one was to then wrap the paper up with dog excrement in it and mail it to the NYT wouldn't that be good???
NYT. Dead man walking.
If the monitor the calls as opposed to arresting them, they can glean more info. Different numbers dialed, different plans being made etc etc.
