Kwanzaa: a Holiday from the FBI (Ann Coulter)
World Net Daily ^ | 28 Dec 2005 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 12/28/2005 5:20:06 PM PST by Rummyfan

President Bush's 2005 Kwanzaa message began with the patently absurd statement: "African-Americans and people around the world reflect on African heritage during Kwanzaa."

I believe more African-Americans spent this season reflecting on the birth of Christ than some phony non-Christian holiday invented a few decades ago by an FBI stooge. Kwanzaa is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.

It is a fact that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI stooge, Ron Karenga, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.

In what was probably ultimately a foolish gamble, during the madness of the '60s the FBI encouraged the most extreme black nationalist organizations in order to discredit and split the left. The more preposterous the organization, the better. Karenga's United Slaves was perfect. In the annals of the American '60s, Karenga was the Father Gapon, stooge of the czarist police.

Despite modern perceptions that blend all the black activists of the '60s, the Black Panthers did not hate whites. They did not seek armed revolution. Those were the precepts of Karenga's United Slaves. United Slaves were proto-fascists, walking around in dashikis, gunning down Black Panthers and adopting invented "African" names. (That was a big help to the black community: How many boys named "Jamal" currently sit on death row?)

Whether Karenga was a willing dupe, or just a dupe, remains unclear. Curiously, in a 1995 interview with Ethnic NewsWatch, Karenga matter-of-factly explained that the forces out to get O.J. Simpson for the "framed" murder of two whites included: "the FBI, the CIA, the State Department, Interpol, the Chicago Police Department" and so on. Karenga should know about FBI infiltration. (He further noted that the evidence against O.J. "was not strong enough to prohibit or eliminate unreasonable doubt" – an interesting standard of proof.)

In the category of the-gentleman-doth-protest-too-much, back in the '70s, Karenga was quick to criticize rumors that black radicals were government-supported. When Nigerian newspapers claimed that some American black radicals were CIA operatives, Karenga publicly denounced the idea, saying, "Africans must stop generalizing about the loyalties and motives of Afro-Americans, including the widespread suspicion of black Americans being CIA agents."

Now we know that the FBI fueled the bloody rivalry between the Panthers and United Slaves. In one barbarous outburst, Karenga's United Slaves shot to death Black Panthers Al "Bunchy" Carter and Deputy Minister John Huggins on the UCLA campus. Karenga himself served time, a useful stepping-stone for his current position as a black studies professor at California State University at Long Beach.

Kwanzaa itself is a lunatic blend of schmaltzy '60s rhetoric, black racism and Marxism. Indeed, the seven "principles" of Kwanzaa praise collectivism in every possible arena of life – economics, work, personality, even litter removal. ("Kuumba: Everyone should strive to improve the community and make it more beautiful.") It takes a village to raise a police snitch.

When Karenga was asked to distinguish Kawaida, the philosophy underlying Kwanzaa, from "classical Marxism," he essentially explained that under Kawaida, we also hate whites. While taking the "best of early Chinese and Cuban socialism" – which one assumes would exclude the forced abortions, imprisonment for homosexuals and forced labor – Kawaida practitioners believe one's racial identity "determines life conditions, life chances and self-understanding." There's an inclusive philosophy for you.

(Sing to "Jingle Bells") Kwanzaa bells, dashikis sell Whitey has to pay; Burning, shooting, oh what fun On this made-up holiday!

Coincidentally, the seven principles of Kwanzaa are the very same seven principles of the Symbionese Liberation Army, another charming invention of the Least-Great Generation. In 1974, Patricia Hearst, kidnap victim-cum-SLA revolutionary, posed next to the banner of her alleged captors, a seven-headed cobra. Each snake head stood for one of the SLA's revolutionary principles: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba and Imani – the same seven "principles" of Kwanzaa.

With his Kwanzaa greetings, President Bush is saluting the intellectual sibling of the Symbionese Liberation Army, killer of housewives and police. He is saluting the founder of United Slaves, who were such lunatics that they shot Panthers for not being sufficiently insane – all with the FBI as their covert ally.

It's as if David Duke invented a holiday called "Anglika," and the president of the United States issued a presidential proclamation honoring the synthetic holiday. People might well stand up and take notice if that happened.

Kwanzaa was the result of a '60s psychosis grafted onto the black community. Liberals have become so mesmerized by multicultural nonsense that they have forgotten the real history of Kwanzaa and Karenga's United Slaves – the violence, the Marxism, the insanity. Most absurdly, for leftists anyway, is that they have forgotten the FBI's tacit encouragement of this murderous black nationalist cult founded by the father of Kwanzaa.

Now the "holiday" concocted by an FBI dupe is honored in a presidential proclamation and public schools across the nation. Bush called Kwanzaa a holiday that promotes "unity" and "faith." Faith in what? Liberals' unbounded capacity to respect any faith but Christianity?

A movement that started approximately 2,000 years before Kwanzaa leaps well beyond merely "unity" and "faith" to proclaim that we are all equal before God. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). It was practitioners of that faith who were at the forefront of the abolitionist and civil-rights movements. But that's all been washed down the memory hole, along with the true origins of Kwanzaa.

President Bush just cant get over the fact that blacks dont like him because their leaders tell them not to. All the sucking up to them in the world wont change a thing.

President Bush has this problem with a lot of things , I believe he is just a nice guy who tries to beat their dislike by trying to be nice and it doesnt work.

He tried to be nice to Fox and Vincente stuck it up his butt, he tried to be nice to Clinton and Bubba stabbed him in the back.

Dear Mr, Bush some people just dont deserve to be treated nicely, To hell with them Try to do what is right for those who back you and screw the others.

I was in a Hallmark store just yesterday (no, not by choice).

The 'Kwanza section' was packed with unsold merchandise that will soon be returned to a warehouse, or destroyed on-site for credit from the manufacturer.

What you say would make sense but then he has not been such a nice guy to those who oppose gun control. Just a few months ago his BATFE banned a bunch more of those "assault rifles". A few weeks after that, they literally violated the law in Virginia, taking names of gun buyers at gun shows then telling their neighbors they had bought guns and asking what they thought of it.

Don't tell me it was an out of control agency either.

Enter a God-hating black racist named Ron Karenga. Born Ron Everett
on a poultry farm in Maryland, Everett invented Kwanzaa in 1966,
based on an African harvest festival (though it takes place during
the Winter Solstice!), and celebrating the first Kwanzaa with his
family and friends.

Calling himself "Maulana" (Swahili for "Master Teacher"), Karenga
became a black nationalist at UCLA, and formed his group, the United
Slaves (US) for the purpose of igniting a "cultural revolution" among
American blacks. US members followed Karenga's "Path of Blackness,"
which is detailed in his Quotable Karenga: "The sevenfold path of
blackness is think black, talk black, act black, create black, buy
black, vote black, and live black."

The United Slaves had violent confrontations with the Black Panthers
on campus, and were actually considered more radical than the
Panthers.

The biggest dispute between the United Slaves and the Panthers was
for the leadership of the new African Studies Department at UCLA,
with each group backing a different candidate. Panthers John Jerome
Huggins and Alprentice "Bunchy" Carter verbally attacked Karenga at
the meeting, which infuriated Karenga's followers. After the meeting
ended, two United Slaves members, George and Larry Stiner, reportedly
confronted Huggins and Carter in a hallway, shooting and killing
them.

Incidentally, on March 31, 1974, it was discovered that both Stiner
brothers had escaped from the family visiting area in San Quentin
State Prison. Larry Stiner turned himself into the FBI in Caracas,
Venezuela, on December 13, 1994. He remains in custody at San
Quentin. But George Stiner remains at large and his whereabouts
remain unknown. He is currently on California's 10 Most Wanted List.

The shooting at UCLA apparently caused Karenga to become extremely
suspicious. On May 9, 1970, Karenga and two others tortured two women
who Karenga believed had tried to poison him by placing "crystals" in
his food and water.

The Los Angeles Times described the events: "Deborah Jones, who once
was given the title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were
whipped with an electric cord and beaten with a karate baton after
being ordered to remove their clothes at gunpoint. She testified that
a hot soldering iron was placed in Miss Davis' mouth and placed
against Miss Davis' face and that one of her own big toes was
tightened in a vice. Karenga, head of US, also put detergent and
running hoses in their mouths, she said."

Karenga was sentenced to one-to-ten years in prison on counts of
felonious assault and false imprisonment. At his trial, the question
arose as to Karenga's sanity. The psychiatrist's report stated: "This
man now represents a picture which can be considered both paranoid
and schizophrenic with hallucinations and illusions, inappropriate
affect, disorganization, and impaired contact with the environment."
The psychiatrist reportedly observed that Karenga talked to his
blanket and imaginary persons, and he believed he'd been attacked by
dive-bombers.

Eight years later, California State University Long Beach named
Karenga the head of its Black Studies Department. By this time,
Karenga had "repented" of his black nationalism and had become just a
harmless garden variety Marxist. This must be our esteemed university
system's idea of repentance!

Karenga's Kwanzaa celebration consists of seven "principles." They
are Umoja (unity), Kujichagulia (self-determination – code for "buy
black"), Ujima (collective work and responsibility – groupthink),
Ujamaa (cooperative economics – socialism), Nia (purpose) Kuumba
(creativity), and Imani (faith – in man, not God).

To provide a symbol of his seven "principles," Karenga used the
menorah from Judaism with Kwanzaa's colors (red, black, and green),
and re-named it the "kinara."

Karenga also created a Kwanzaa flag that consists of black, green,
and red. The Kwanzaa Information Center states the color red
represents blood: "We lost our land through blood; and we cannot gain
it except through blood. We must redeem our lives through the blood.
Without the shedding of blood there can be no redemption of this
race." The Kwanzaa Information Center also notes that this flag "has
become a symbol of devotion for African people in America to
establish an independent African nation on the North American
Continent." (Emphasis added.)

When once asked why he designed Kwanzaa to take place around
Christmas, Karenga explained, "People think it's African, but it's
not. I came up with Kwanzaa because black people wouldn't celebrate
it if they knew it was American. Also, I put it around Christmas
because I knew that's when a lot of bloods would be partying."

Karenga has explained that his creation of Kwanzaa was motivated in
part by hostility toward both Christianity and Judaism. Writing in
his 1980 book Kawaida Theory, he claimed that Western
religion "denies and diminishes human worth, capacity, potential and
achievement. In Christian and Jewish mythology, humans are born in
sin, cursed with mythical ancestors who've sinned and brought the
wrath of an angry God on every generation's head." He clearly opposed
belief in God and other "spooks who threaten us if we don't worship
them and demand we turn over our destiny and daily lives."

Happy Kwanzaa
By Paul Mulshine
FrontPageMagazine.com | December 24, 1999

On December 24, 1971, the New York Times ran one of the first of many articles on a new holiday designed to foster unity among African Americans. The holiday, called Kwanzaa, was applauded by a certain sixteen-year-old minister who explained that the feast would perform the valuable service of "de-whitizing" Christmas. The minister was a nobody at the time but he would later go on to become perhaps the premier race-baiter of the twentieth century. His name was Al Sharpton and he would later spawn the Tawana Brawley hoax and then incite anti-Jewish tensions in a 1995 incident that ended with the arson deaths of seven people.

Great minds think alike. The inventor of the holiday was one of the few black "leaders" in America even worse than Sharpton. But there was no mention in the Times article of this man or of the fact that at that very moment he was sitting in a California prison. And there was no mention of the curious fact that this purported benefactor of the black people had founded an organization that in its short history tortured and murdered blacks in ways of which the Ku Klux Klan could only fantasize.

There was this guy in Europe, see, and he thought it would be good to de-Christianize things like Christmas and substitute in their stead things like ancient Nordic festivals, in order to de-blackize and de-Jewize Europe and the world, just like the man who called himself Karenga. His name was Schickelgruber, but he called himself Hitler. He was as nuttier than Karenga it turned out but only after an awful lot of bloodshed. Get this straight, reviving racist harvest festivals and the like as a replacement for celebrating the birth of the Son of the Living God is a truly diabolic and corrupt idea.

A check at the Cal State University, Long Beach, reveals that Ron Karenga is now the chairman of the Black Studies Department.

I detest this phoney-baloney and snake oil pseudo "holiday". Therefore this song:

On the first day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
A Marxist in a red tree.

On the second day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.

On the third day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Three Dixie Chicks.
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.

On the fourth day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Four Lenin busts.
Three Dixie Chicks,
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.

On the fifth day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Five fel-on-ies.
Four Lenin busts,
Three Dixie Chicks,
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.

On the sixth day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Six Castro jumpsuits.
Five fel-on-ies,
Four Lenin busts,
Three Dixie Chicks,
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.

On the seventh day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Seven Mao pajamas,
Six Castro jumpsuits,
Five fel-on-ies,
Four Lenin busts
Three Dixie Chicks,
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.

Unfortunately, Bush makes himself appear to be not a "nice guy" but another PC moron. One would like to think that someone (anyone!) who wrote his absurd soundbites would at least know what they're talking about before they allow him to parrot their script. It appears his handlers may be equally ignorant -- or think we are! He's also launched other PC inanities about Islam and the Islamofascists that are not just incorrect but embarrassing to hear.

I've been associated with the Air Force for almost 30 years. In all that time...I've never known a single black to celebrate Kwanza. I brought this up a couple of years ago to two black co-workers, and they just started laughing. They each had a wife who attempted to bring this concept into the marriage, and both cases...the husband asked them what was exactly African about the whole thing. Neither of the wives could really answer that. And then one guy even went to the extent of explaining the seven principals....which are borderline between communism and socialism...telling the wife that he didn't need to sink to that level.

What someone here needs to do...is start an Irish holiday fest...as bogus as you can get. Call it Saint Timothy's week and dump in some heavy drinking, festive eating, and fake speeches by famous Irishmen to attach to each of the seven days of the week. Find a college campus and release the fake holiday...and I'll bet in 20 years...at least 10 million Americans are celebrating it.

Yes, absolutely correct. I remember that during a press conference a reporter told Bush that Islam in Arabic did NOT mean " peace" but "submission." Bush stood there with a stupid grin and compounded his gaffe with more PC that made even less sense than his original statement. I too voted for Bush for other reasons - the biggest and best was Kerry. Anyway, it just goes to show how the PC disease is ubiquitous and poisoning our culture -- in education, politics, law, journalism, etc.

>>>President Bush has this problem with a lot of things , I believe he is just a nice guy who tries to beat their dislike by trying to be nice and it doesnt work.<<<

Exactly. Jesus was not nice to the Pharisees, and he raised Holy Hell with the temple moneychangers.

James instructed, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." When is the President going to resist the devil? When is he going to stop appeasing the children of the devil?

As W.C.Fields said, nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.
