With all due respect to Mr. Berntsen , he may be wrong about bin Laden: a close friend of the missing terrorist leader claims he left Tora Bora 10 days before the siege began and his account is replete with small details that suggest high credibility. Uh, so a close friend of terrorist mastermind Usama bin Laden is more credible than a frontline CIA field agent? I bash the CIA 10x a day, and I don't know that I'd go that far.
Fact of the matter is, 8 CIA operatives and their Afghan allies engaged nearly a thousand Al Qaida in Tora Bora, hit them with B-52 strikes, and killed most of them. Bin Laden, who was voice IDed there by electronic intercept using captured radios, appears to have escaped. That sucks, but it happens.
To be honest, I'm not really understand the rest of your post, other than you seem to be aware of the existance of something called a Neo Copperhead Troll, which sounds like it should have it's own special on the Discovery channel.

Kinda like all the sources about Saddam and WMD programs and huge underground complexes filled with scuds, or maybe it was the same source that gave them the map to the chinese embassy in Yugoslavia.

The Neo-Copperhead-Troll jargon comes from another site where genefromjersey posts. He posted a vanity a day or two ago outlining the trolls who come to that message board.

You sure nailed it. Post of the DAY! Neo-Copperheads GREAT name for them.
At the risk of venturing over into Troll Territory myself, may I suggest that some of the Neo-Copperheads wanted large numbers of American troops on the ground in Afghanistan because it would increase friction between the Afghanis and the Americans, because it would increase the likelihood of American casualties, and because it would increase tension between the US and Pakistan to have so many of our troops milling about right next to the Pakistani border?
Any or all of these things would help make their original predictions about the Afghanistan campaign (that we would become bogged down in the same sort of mess the Soviets encountered ) -come true:thus proving that they were right again

Copperhead is a reference to Civil War democrats. Do a little study on it and you'll find that the Dems were doing the same thing back then that they are now.

Thanks. Now I'm really confused. It's a writing style I can only describe as a fusion of Patrick Buchanan and Hunter S Thompson.

According to Newsweek ,Mr. Berntsen says Osama bin Laden was able to escape from the siege of Tora Bora in December,2001 because US Central Command would not allow more American troops to be deployed.
"If" OBL was on Tora Bora really doesn't matter. At the time I was 100% convinced OBL would escape. It's very easy for someone on a mountain to escape when surrounded. All they have to do is wait and watch as the troops move up the mountain, and then go through the gaps, which develop due to uneven terrain.

Try telling it to these guys SW.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/campaign/ground/torabora.html
After the Taliban regime was defeated, the military turned its focus to mountainous region of Tora Bora, where is was believed that Osama bin Laden was holed up in fortified caves along with Taliban and Al Qaeda troops. Special Forces soldiers working with local warlords describe the assault on the caves, and military commanders defend against charges that the operation was a failure because of insufficent troops on the ground to root out bin Laden. Forces from the 10th ID also took part.
For your information Steel;
Copperheads were Pro South Northern Democrats who activly worked to undermine the North's War Effort during the US Civil War.
