Brian Morse, 54, was declared dead at the scene, at a home in the 2300 block of Fountain Drive, after his glove became stuck in the wood chipper and pulled him in.
The Larimer County Coroner's Office identified Morse, owner of Brian's Tree Trimming & Removal Service, using fingerprints. The cause of death was listed as "total morselization." The gloves protected Morse's hands, leaving the fingerprints intact.

I can't recall seeing the CoD of "total morselization"
before, and this surely can't be the first case of it.

I thought it would be more like Saddamage, or Shreadamizataion.

I have a pair of very heavy duty work gloves that I use when I'm stacking firewood...prevents a lot of cuts and splinters, and occasionally a log will snag on the glove when I toss it..so it's possible to understand how this could happen....The chipper rotor PULLS the log into the maw..so if his gloved hand got caught on a log, and pulled in..it would be over in an instant..

"total morselization."
Tough way to go, but at least it was quick. He probably had just enough time to realize that he had messed up big time.

Terrible. My dad used to always warn us when we worked on the farm with him. No loose clothing, watch the moving parts etc. There was a kid a few years back in our area that fell into the manure spreader. It had become clogged and he was kicking at the clump trying to unclog it, he didn't have it disengaged, slipped and fell in. My uncle was the fire chief and said it was horriffic.
Prayers for this guy, his friend who witnessed it and his family.

Once upon a time I spent many hours chunking logs and branches into a large Vermeer chipper. It had a large safety shut-off bar that went all the way around the feed chute. One light push on the bar and it would stop feeding. It was still scary because nothing is failsafe. Clothes and gloves would frequently hang up. Not for the faint of heart.
All that being said, and hopefully having qualified my two cents, please allow me to contribute to the proposed terms:
Catastrophic Discorporation
