I agree with you to a point. I had acne throughout high school and it really effected me socially. It was not severe, but it was bad. I joined the navy and they put me on accutane. My skin was clear in 3 months and I have not had acne for 18 years since. It changed my life. I went from having zero girlfriends to beating them off with a stick. If you are young and healthy and can abstain from sex for 6 months, take acutane. It will probably be the last treatment you will ever need for acne. You use anything else, it will be a chronic problem. Don't be afraid of this stuff if used properly!
