The front man is lying. Just because a project has been bid on doesn't mean it can't be cancelled. Happens all the time.
Louisiana, it is time for a march on Baton Rouge to take your state back.
Before the rest of us do.
No court would have held that a bankrupt state would have to go forward with that bid. Ridiculous.
COME ON DOWN!
Here's what I know as a Louisianian and a New Orleanian.
-MawMaw Blanko is a mouthpiece for the Edwards crowd. She was elected to 'hold the place', and to prevent a brown 'foreigner'( Jindal-yes- it's about race!) from becoming Governor.
-As I speak, people I consider well educated and more than half-intelligent actually BELIEVE Edwin Edwards should be Governor again, and would vote for him again!
-MawMaw Blanko is not running the Governors office, her husband is. Both are incompetent, but she is now doing what she is best at- shopping and redecorating.
You must understand- a BIG portion of this state NEVER EXPECTED anything more from her. And, a big portion of this state HATES, HATES, HATES South Louisiana and New Orleans in particular; so they do NOT count her handling of Katrina against her.
A huge number of Louisianians would vote for a blind, deaf, mentally retarded DEAD candidate before Bobby Jindal- because he's Republican, and because he's a brown 'foreigner'. Thems the FACTS as me and mine know them.
To expect the deep seated mentality of Louisiana and New Orleans to change because of Katrina and it's aftermath is fantasy. The state is divided, the parishes are divided, the cities are divided along class, race and political lines. Right now the fighting is heating up over trailers( NIMBY) and Levee Boards(we don't trust YOUR'S, only OURS) being consolidated.
Nagin wouldn't even meet a group of his own citizens from Lakeview because they had to meet ONE BLOCK OVER the parish line in Jefferson Parish! The only parish above water!
Most of you have no idea of the level of factionalism here. NOTHING is getting done. Most of N.O. still looks like the day after Katrina.
So- come on down--SOMEBODY should either straighten this mess out and drag this area into the 21st century, or write it off and start shutting it down.
The biggest fear in government here is not that the levees won't be fixed, it's that New Orleans might become a 'white city'. That is considered the worst that could happen!
Too white, too crime-free, to bucolic, too mid-america, too...what exactly? That is actually said, in public, by officials and it has been in print!
New Orleans can't become a 'white city'.
Ruminate on that!
What the $#%& is that supposed to mean, North Dakota?
