I'm still trying to figure out where this welfare state I apparently live in is . Maybe my cheque is being redirected elsewhere cause I sure don't collect one.
Does Canada have national healthcare? Does Canada have welfare for the "less unfortunate"?
To: kajingawd
You make a valid point, but what I want is for Canada to break up. We could then build a wall isolating us (us = US) from Ontario and Quebec, and we could very politely beg the western provinces (especially Alberta) to join the United States.

Cool -- this is good news.
If the Liberals lose a lot of seats in Ontario, they'll lose control of the government.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Let's see if the numbers hold through the election.

I pray that is so, hard to believe though but who knows, maybe just maybe...

A lot can happen in two months, but this is a good sign.

Two months? Elections are in 2 weeks. You mean, since it started.
To: Alberta's Child
I think it started last month actually.

Well Bush was able to stop the practise of blowjobs in the Oval Office was he not. Well, his immigration policy still sucks. (ba-dum BUM!)
Cheers!

Check with Crime Minister Martin as he goes to his private health care clinic.

LOL - I notice how he hates conservative politics, which presumably means he loathes the US - but that doesn't stop him coming down to get a college education here courtesy of our loony-left academia.
I have to say, though, that while there are certainly any number of leftie Canadians, for sheer political pychosis you have to visit left-coast USA.

"oh why paint such a dreary picture...?"
The numbers are what paint the dreary picture and the numbers do not lie. You have 33% of voters supporting so-called Conservatives who are the equivalent of our democrats, and the rest of the country are dyed in the wool leftist goofballs or interconnecting Frogs.
We have at least twice as much of everything in our country as you do in Canada, but that is because we are a great country and you are a frozen joke.
The facts that are germane to this discussion, however, are that we have a Republican President serving his second term, a GOP majority in the House and Senate and most of the Supreme Court justices have been nominated by Republican Presidents.
Is there any chance of any political party rolling back your national health care, your gun registration program, or your homosexual marriage laws? I thought not.
I am certainly happy that my grandfather showed some initiative and left London, Ontario to come and to America where men are still men and where we still have our inalienable right to keep and bear arms.

"Since you retards keep on putting all Canadians in the same boat"
No, not all Canadians, but when only 33% support any sort of conservative party at all, that mean you are a long, long, way from running things. At least in the US, we can muster majorities in our National Elections.

Its nothing like 1984 and 1993 where one party was going to win by a landslide. If the Liberals lose, its because they're weighed down by Paul Martin, who by Canadian standards, has shown himself to be less than an inspired leader. There are still three weeks to go in this unusually long holiday campaign and anything could happen. The election on January 23 will be decided again in Ontario.

Check out you check to see how much your socialist government is taking out to run its socialist programs, on your behalf.

In Canada, four parties lean Left: the Bloc in Quebec, the federal Liberals, the NDP and the Greens. Compare that to the Right and the Conservatives barely come up to the American RINO level. That's how weak conservatism is in Canada. 70% of voters go Left because of the dearth of real political choices. So for all practical intents and purposes the country is a one party state. If you get tired of the Liberals, you can just elect other Leftists to run the Government. No wonder voter turnout has been declining in Canada for decades. Regardless of who wins, nothing much changes up in Ottawa.

taking out to run its socialist programs, on your behalf. I once mentioned all the socialist programs in the US. You have more than Canada does. And the reply I got was , Oh No , they weren't socialist programs , they were government programs.
OK, Needless to say I'm aware of socialist programs and policies in Canada but.....are Americans aware of those in the US?
I'm still looking/waiting for the cheque .I don't get.
Yet :)
