Pretty soon we are going to have to think about staking out some territory for ourselves. The philisophical differences are too far appart to be reconcilled. We need to split up into freedom states and socialist states. That's our only hope.
I'm not sure that McCain can share the ticket with McCain.
Ours. I know - not my favorite, either. But we do have a war to win, and it won't be won by a liberal Democrat, and it may not be possible to win it if the PERCEPTION remains that America is divided on the issue. We need a ticket which can command overwhelming support and be pre-committed to winning the war.
McCain/Lieberman fits the bill from what I can see...unless you've got a better alternative.
Already taken care of...my therapist says that soon I'll be able to take day trips to the real world.
Seriously, though, I think this important - we need unity in the war.
I can't stand him either. How could he win the presidency after his assault on the first amendment? But I'm sad to say that I think he can win with this so-called "bipartisan" strategy. No one seems aware of what they've given up, so why should they stop now. Who needs freedom if you can have "peace."
I can see it now...
McCain/McCain 2008
Right...but the alternative in the Democratic Party, because Lieberman will be on the GOP ticket, will make McGovern seem like hawk.
The idea is to put "victory" on one ticket and "anti-war" on the other and see which sides collects the most votes...My bet is that "victory" will score 60 to 70% of the vote, and thus show us united for the war. A very important political statement designed to assist the military effort.
Well if he made it, the talking head shows would go out of bidness. Heh heh heh...
When great egos meet it's always an I for an I.
What if we win the war in the middle east but lose our own soul at home? McCain doesn't come CLOSE to understanding the Constitution. He may do fine executing the war, but that's simply not enough. His lust for power is scary to me because his ego is larger than life. He will destroy the GOP first, then the entire country.
CFR is the real sticking point - but I also understand why McCain got into it...he was tainted with the Keating Five campaign finance scandal and this was his way, I guess, of showing his fiscal purity....
McCain/Lieberman fits the bill from what I can see...unless you've got a better alternative.
Giuliani/Rice
Lieberman's principals are momentary. He blows with the wind. Don't let one Iraq vote blind you to what he is. He took on Hollywood, till he became Gore's running mate, he backtracked. He was against abortion before becoming the running mate. He voted against the Patriot Act and was front and center to cheer the vote. When all is said and done, he's a Democrat.
I've seen bumper stickers around town, 'Cheney/Satan' '08, I'd go there...
but Lieberman, McCain, that is a Democrat ticket. No way.
NO NO NO .....Hell No!
Unless it was Lieberman/Hillary. Then all bets are off.
The only way I'd vote for McCain is if he's the only one left standing after the primaries.
During the primaries I'd work and donate to insure that he didn't make it to the top of the ticket.
Our best bet is Dick Cheney. The #2 could be Allen or Rice.
Giuliani/Rice would win, but we want a massive victory for a ticket committed to military victory...
