OMG!!! I can't believe somebody also thought that was brilliant and actually posted it just a few posts before me...that's hysterical!! So you read it?
Yes, as soon as he posted it. It wouldn't have made any sense to me when it was originally published, because the family has only been through the books and movies in the last six months or so.
Of course, the Clinton-era characters are more familiar to an American than the Canadian folks in the current article.
Unfortunately for Canada, it's national identity is dependent upon differentiating itself from the US. That means that it will have to be run by unbelievably incompetent, crooked, and hateful liberals.
oh no, THIS is the funniest Steyn column ever.

At least I think so.

Mark Steyn ping.
Trust me that no one in Ontario is thinking that a liberal majority is going to lead to the west leaving. They are more likely to think the CPC winning will lead to Quebec leaving.
I think you're right about certain characteristics of Hillary disqualifying her for any real chance at the Presidency. She would need to swing even more voters than either Al Gore or Kerry, and when it comes down to it, as wooden as both of them are, they are positively CAT-LIKE, LOOSE-HIPPED BOHEMIANS compared to Hillary. If you've ever listened to a Hillary lecture/speech/public pronouncement, she sounds like some semi-computerized "Big Mother" Leader out of some science-fiction vision of a future Dystopia
that was once know as the USA.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
*clap* Steyn AND Narnia!
That was funny, too.
However once you get to know the Canadian socialists you may not like them. (sarc)
They are no different then socialists everywhere, grandiose, paranoid and delusional.
The difference is in Canada they are entrenched with a government controlled media and a firm control in certain "key" ridings.
Also there have been something like 35,000 Liberal "appointments" to top government and judicial positions.
The Canadian Conservatives have a real uphill climb even if they win.
If you find it would you ping me, too?
BTW, last night The Learning Channel rebroadcast The Woman with Half a Body.
Only caught the last half, but I wish everyone could see it and appreciate their lives like she does.
I love the way she had her son's T-ball team laughing as she explained her disability so they wouldn't make fun of him for having such a different mom.
Thanks for mentioning this show recently.
Steyn alert
Hi there! Believe it or not, somebody already posted it before I talked about it! Check out post #9. It saved me a lot of work!!! lol!!!! We're watching the Discovery Health Channel right now. They have on suck fascinating shows!
OMG ... that link from post #9 is the funniest parody I've ever read.
Steyn is a genius.
No offence NZ, I like you, but you really should become more knowledgable on this subject before you post stuff. You don't live in Canada, and all you know is what you see in the press.
The Conservatives are leading in all the recent polls with a projected seat count of 121. This number will rise, it's looking more and more like Canada is veering to the right, especially with the vote split on the left between the Liberals and the NDP.
