The hold over in the judiciary committee is apparently not an OFFICIAL holdover, leaving open the possibility that when the committee meets again on the 24th, there will be yet another week’s delay in the vote.

Reid's words this moring indicate an assumption that debate on Alito will occur next week.

I think Specter made a mistake in not calling the Committee in yesterday, and forcing the formal record to be in order. Not that I doubt theCommittee vote will happen on the 24th, I think it will happen then. But not having the meeting shows "no consequences," not even the inconvenience of having to come in and go on the formal record.
