I doubt it. Letterman is the "Tonight Show" ... it is America and in many ways represents America to them.
He has some good info sometimes, but he is just so conceited.
I thought "Leno" was the tonight show (actually Carson)
But after 6:00 . . .I never turn on Fox, unless something is going on.
Not to their generation.
Just watched that, and Holy Shit! David Letterman is an ass!
Just confirms why I've never been able to watch him.
He's best suited to covering himself in velcro and throwing himself against a wall, talking animals, stuff like that.
But I do really love Brit Hume.
And Fox is the only choice we have at the moment, unless you want to listen to screaming libs all day.
I did see this and enjoyed it very much. O'Reilly did a good job. I wrote him a limerick, I was so inspired, and tried to email it to his website, but it looks as though you have to be a member :(

You should still be able to send it in and be topical since he covered it today.
I'm not a big fan of O'Reilly, many times he seems as clueless as Letterman (recently he attributed Silent Night to Irving Berlin!) but the Talking Points memo and the letters can be entertaining.
But when Ellis Emptyhead is a guest, the two of them together create an intellectual vacuum that threatens to end existence as we know it, so I always switch off at that point.
The only time Letterman influenced me is day by day, year after year of not watching him.
LOL. He can be just awful. Then again, he did a very nice job with Mr. Clueless.
I thought Bill did a good job and the whole thing made Letterman look foolish. I've never seen Dave get "mad" like that. He kept making faces and really came off as a bitter person. That's not comedy!
For Christmas, I got a DVD of the best of Johnny Carson. Sure, Carson was probably a left leaner, but he had class.
He would never have insulted his guests like Letterman did to O'Reilly. Carson was actually funny most of the time, even when he made jokes against Nixon and Reagan they weren't really mean-spirited like the one's Leno and Letterman do today.
I guess it's a sign of the times. Too bad because I miss the old days when the Hollywood crew (as Laura Ingraham would say) "shut up and sing/act/tell funny jokes."
Dave's just a ratings whore. He slammed Hillary for weeks, but when she appeared on his show she had him eating out of her, uh, lap. He pulled exactly the same stunt with Oprah. The best thing Dave could do would be to take his millions, retire and marry his son's mother.
O'Reilly, well I really prefer John Gibson taking the O'Reilly spot. But O'Reilly did a good job of Bar B Q ing, Letterman.
Letterman thinks Cindy Sheehan walks on water, just pure liberal MOONBAT think, Letterman is unintelligent and ill informed.
How disappointing. I'm not O'Reilly's biggest fan, but I really used to love Letterman. What a boob, what a tool, what a jerk.
Bitterly disappointing.
Dan
I cannot believe how many women adore Oprah,it's disgusting!
Letterman has never been funny and is very boring. His top 10 lists are never funny. I thought Bill was gracious and David looked like a total fool that has never watched the news.
I didn't realize that the www.billoreilly.com link had the audio only. The video version showed Letterman in an even worse light.
Letterboy has always made a big deal about how much he admires Johnny Carson. Well, Letterboy did two things in one night that I don't think Carson did in his entire career: Flaunt his political views and insult a guest. Letterboy is a mere cypher compared with the likes of Johnny Carson.
