He thinks she can learn.
I think there are things about bullying and the way bullies think that women are constitutionally unable to understand.
The book Infiltration should be added to that list. Paul Sperry has done a lot of research and forever changed my mind about Muslims and Islam. Sperry and Spencer are on the right track, but we can't expect our elected leaders to condemn Islam because half of them are either afraid or in bed with Arabs.
Now if we could get Condi and Bush to read the Koran they might tone down their confusing statements on the subject of Islam. -Tom
The kidglove treatment of her by the press is not warranted.
The Liberal New York Slimes, knows a good Palestinian-friendly State dept. when they see it.
"Bullying"? Read an account of the USS Liberty. Israel knows real bullying when it wants something bad enough. Sheesh.
Including the "Islam is a religion of Peace" Mr Bush himself?
What? Thats your case?
I can say what I want about Islam in general, because I'm not Secretary of State, nor am I president.
I don't have to deal with the fact that my war effort in Iraq and Afghanistan both depend upon bases located in muslim countries. I don't have to deal with the fact that muslims are backing me in Iraq while non-muslims like the EU and Russia and China are undercutting me at every turn.
Bush (and Rice) have to maintain access to our Kuwaiti, and Qatari, and Bahraini, and Omani bases that make this whole thing possible. We are using Iraqi troops against Iraqi and other arab insurgents, we are using Afghan fighters against other Afghan insurgents, we have FBI and special ops guys sneaky-pete-ing their way around Pakistan looking for the baddies, we have special forces guys basing out of Jordan, in other words, the last thing we want is a unified muslim world, unified against us. That means you walk a fine line, and you do not insult your hosts.
The work we are doing in Iraq redounds to Israel's benefit, and our enemies and Israel both know that. Which is why Israel bends over backward not to do or say anything that makes our life more difficult.
Still, Israel has her own immediate problems to deal with, which is why there is a certain tension between an action that would help us in our negotiations with Egypt, for example, but carries too high a cost for Israel. So they may push back on some issue or other.
There is another issue as well. Israel lives with certain realities. One of them is that there is a limit to her own willingness to wage war; she is herself looking for "solutions". Some of these solutions are politically difficult to sell; its easier to blame the Americans occasionally than to explain the need to do a particular thing.
Rice isn't selling her own policy; she is selling Bush's policy. It is shaped by competing needs of at least three different war efforts, and both the long term and short term security needs of Israel and the US. You can't always admit what you are doing, your friends can't always admit that they agree, and some of your friends can't even admit they are your friends in every case.
I stopped reading after this silliness.
No, this is 'bullying':
Why is Rice visiting Indonesia? This country has a Christian kill festival about every three years. Doesn't she see them for the savages they are?
Rice is becomeing a presidental canidate for many so its time to start slinging $hit.
