Never heard of the guy, but I will assume that is an insult.

Look, I suppose I need to do some research into this before I am allowed to speak on FreeRepublic, and not be attacked for asking questions.

I am completely ignorant on this subject, and I willingly admit that. But I just don't understand how it can work.

I suppose I will look it up, and read about it myself, rather than ask FReepers about it.

It is obviously a sore subject for many FReepers.

The "Reverend" Barry Lynn is supposedly an ordained minister who heads Americans United for Separation of Church and State (kind of a modern-day, well-paid Judas). The group originally was founded in the 1940s as Protestants and Others United, an admittedly anti-Catholic organization. As time has gone on, the organization has changed its name, is less truthful about its mission and has become more inclusive (anti-Christian as opposed to just anti-Catholic).

My problem with the public school system is that it is controlled by the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers. Unfortunately, the people determining the public school agenda are more concerned about how students feel than what they learn.

It's okay if student graduate not able to read or write effectively as long as they support abortion rights, champion gay rights causes and vote Democratic. The United States spends more per student on public K-12 education than any other country in the world, yet our students rank below those of much poorer countries like Ireland and Eastern European nations.

As long as public education is a monopoly, it won't be fixed. That's why I support vouchers or tax credits.
