That's your answer to my suggestion that Americans should have a little more intellectual curiosity? I guess I am a Newbie, because that surprises me. After awhile, I'm sure it won't.

I believe that it is but our globalist President thinks that multiculturalism and diversity should be a priority for all American taxpayers.
When immigrants come to the US they are the ones who should be speaking and reading our language, not us speaking and reading theirs.
If we go to their country then the tables turn and it should be our obligation to speak and read theirs.
Fine and dandy. Those how like learning foreign languages will. Those who do not should not have to...reading writing ENGLISH and arithmentic should be top priorities.
Right now they are not...at least in public schools.
I belive you are exactly right. It's not about training a pool of linguistic specialists. It's about wooing Americans towards tolerance of diversity.
