Are there a whole lot of promiscuous gays and IV drug abusers who are sympathetic to Al-Qaida? I thought fundamentalist Islam frowned on that sort of thing.

I was thinking the same thing, but that's pretty much only in the American context. There are plenty of North Africans carrying around all kinds of nasty diseases, and AIDS is quite prevalent among heterosexuals in Africa.
