One of the ads however, suggesting Harper would put military personnel in Canadian cities, was later pulled, with the Liberal Party saying the ad had been circulated in error. Last time I was in Vancouver there were military personnel there. Who knew?

As we speak..... I saw a political ad by the Liberal campaign. It had a side shot of a desert soldier. Helmeted and in camouflage,I presume he was American. Beyond him was a tank cannon shooting. A voice said.
He, (Harper) will send Canadians to Iraq.
We will all await results with bated breath. One heck of a scare tactic though. Maybe it is all now smoke and mirrors.

We already have military personnel in Canadian cities, the Justice Institute in Vancouver for example.
Martin's people are trying to invoke the specter of the war measures act to spook Quebecers. But the WMA was invoked during the FLQ crisis by Trudeau. Quebecers have hated him ever since.
This is the most incompetent Liberal campaign in my memory.
Martin is going down. It's not the fall that kills you. It's the sudden stop at the end.

The problem the Liberals have is they have no message. They appear to want to do nothing if returned to office except exercise power. What the Conservatives have going for them is ideas. You can argue whether they're bold enough but at least they offer voters a view of what a Conservative Government would do for Canada. What do the Liberals have on offer besides fear? That ought to weigh on the minds of Canadians assessing the two major parties plans for the country in the next five years.
