ROFL. Calcowgirl and Carrie Okie would nominate that for the funniest statement of the year. The budget spends I think 5% more than last year and its beyond me how Fabian Nunez can characterize the budget as "balanced." It must be the new math. And most of the spending is going to education. See, the Democrats' dilemma is there isn't enough in the pot for all their constituents. So I think we're going to see a clash between the education interests and the welfare establishment. One will end up being the winner and in the end push comes to shove, its the teachers' unions who'll carry the day.

LOL. Actually, I think a good portion of the budget goes into the pockets of the rich, in the form of pork and other shenanigans.

The budget spends I think 5% more than last year...

The general fund increased by 8.7%, the total budget by 7%. The general fund is up 37% from when Arnold took office. Here are some number comparisons I posted
