In a statement issued hours after Belafontes bombastic revolutionary battle cry, in which he spoke out against Bush and said millions of Americans support the socialist revolution of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, United Nations representatives for UNICEF said Belafonte spoke as a private citizen and was not speaking as a UNICEF ambassador, nor acting in an official capacity on behalf of the organization. Of course thats akin to saying Hitler was a bad man, but a great fund-raiser for our Jewish Humanitarian organization
Belafonte shouted from the stage No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we're (including Danny Glover) here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people... support your revolution.
While his statements would have one day (in the McCarthy era) landed him in prison for treason, today, they are unfortunately a statement of fact. Millions of Americans do in fact support the socialist revolution today, though most are reluctant to use such politically incorrect but otherwise appropriate terms, preferring to still masquerade as less threatening live and let live liberals of old, or just plain democrats.

Harry is a commie from way back. He campaigned for FDR's favorite commie, Henry Wallace (apologist for Stalin), back in 1948. For some reason Harry "Momma Look at Boo-Boo Dere" Belafonte flew under the HUAC's radar.
It's time for the news media to stop reporting on remarks made by older folks such as Mr. Belafonte and Pat Robertson. Dementia is an illness that creeps in slowly and unfortunately it attacks the frontal lobes first. Humor and perspective then leave the human brain.
It isn't their fault but on the other hand I don't believe that what either of these gentlemen say is newsworthy at all. It is simply depressing and shows that much more funding needs to be spent on Alzheimer's and similar problems.
Harry needs to sell his mansion in Malibu and move to Venezuela. He can take the banana boat to get there.
I'm one of those older folks, foggy. At what age do you think people become irrelevant and disposable? Sounds to me like your screen name describes your thought processes.
Good one, LOL!!
The AARP just lost at least a couple of members, my wife and me. I think they've lost a bunch of subscribers.
