Watch CNN or log on to http://CNN.com and watch FREE video, plus live, commercial-free video with CNN Pipeline.

Thanks but, no.

More Americans watch CNN. More Americans trust CNN.

I doubt it.

This guy was my congressman when I lived in Ohio. The 18th District of Ohio has a history of corruption. Remember Wayne L. Hayes? Anyway if he's resigning his committee chairmanship he must be expecting to be indicted.

... which would make him the 2nd casualty of the Abramoff scandal

The linked article does NOT make this assertion.

So, who is the 1st casualty?

this is pretty say

he (Ney) is pretty respected in the district, even by dems. he has represented the district very well.

last elected at a 2-1 margin.

piling the abramof mud on him is the ONLY way he could lose an election.

i'm open to the possibility he is 'corrupt' (and thus should resign) but he was definitely at the bottom of the list of who i'd expect to be going down for this.

Just saw the announcement that Hastert has asked Ney to step down. The end is near. Clean cut, and be done with it.
