I know a lot of folks, like me, never watch the self-proclaimed important folks give each other awards, but I do know that a lot of FReepers like to watch the award shows.

My question is given that BrokeBack is the annoited, token movie this awards season, is anybody not going to watch any of the award shows for that reason?

Not necessarily that a "gay" movie is up for awards but for the obvious fact that "the fix is in" for the "gay" movie to get a lot of awards?

Watch the awards? And give Hollywood what it needs to keep making it's offensive offerings - more viewers. No. I won't do it.

I watch the classics. In that by-gone era, movie makers used to respect their audiences.

I'll most likely tune in, just to confirm my suspicions that the "fix is in" and the mere mention of the movie "Brokeback" will be received with a thunderous applause or a standing ovation.
